  • Information Retrieval & Innovation search

Intelligent Information Retrieval from unstructured (textual) and semi-structured (XML) sources. Particular interest in Distributed Information Retrieval and patent search, where the resources from multiple, independent, heterogeneous innovation resources are searched and combined into a unified, integrated system.

  • Semantic Web and Web Accessibility Technologies

This area exploits the potential given by semantic web technologies in order to improve web accessibility in the current web. Our view of the semantic web is that of a semantic metadata layer describing the current WWW according to users’ needs. This semantic metadata layer can later be utilised through agents for improving web accessibility of the WWW
